This types of treatment are strictly suggested for cases of hypogonadism, i.e., a pathological reduction in the height of testosterone, and still so in very partial situation. Testosterone is unnaturally restored by IM injections or by intra-dermal on the testes. Standard heights are reaching very rapidly and a result of the sexual libido and erectile function, may be felt after few days. Male hormone replacement therapy seems to have additional help, particularly in old aged men, such as the patient feeling better and more thrilled with superior mental attentiveness.
Nonetheless, testosterone replacement therapy is
more unsafe than its female complement (the use of
oestrogen). Its clinical use is warranted only after a specific age, and merely when the lack of prostate muddle is established by a careful prostate assessment (including ultrasound, rectal touch, and clinical history) and the extent of levels of PSA - an antigenic factor shown in the blood in unusual attention when prostate cancer is initiating.
